Why did we start Peeces?

As maybe some or even few of you know, we already dared to take a few steps towards self-employment before Peeces. Leon started creating graphics and websites for himself and friends at the age of 14 and thus came into contact with various hurdles that come naturally to you for the first time.

In addition, I can still remember exactly the moment when Moritz came back from an exchange in America and we talked about the idea of something 'own' in the swimming pool we trusted. At the time, that seemed relatively far away.

As we got older and the Abitur came closer and closer, the questions about 'life after' naturally became more and more topical. Meanwhile, we both became aware of a company that was founded by a few acquaintances. Of course, we also had a few things going on all the time and ideas that were not implemented.

There we sat with role models and ideas and thought about what we wanted to do. So we just wanted to take the plunge and start with a system called Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon). This promises quick results that can be implemented with relatively little work. Our first product was also online quickly and got off to a relatively good start. However, we quickly realized that we were not keen on this idea and therefore our motivation quickly waned.

One day we decided against going this route, but we were still super motivated to tackle the next project straight away. During the time with Amazon, we already started going to various second-hand shops and buying and selling clothes for ourselves. But since our thirst wasn't quenched yet, we put 1 and 1 together and came to "making the thing really big with the pieces" (quote: Moritz). So the first step was done and the new company name was already found.

What makes us different in this aspect is that we get started within what feels like 3 days and so our website was online less than 2 weeks later and the first pictures appeared on Instagram. So the first 5 articles came online and these became 20 pieces during Moritz Abitur (mid-2018). But we hadn't really thought it all through, which is why we wanted to think more about the whole principle. That's why we prepared various drops and then we went to Bali to create a precise concept there, which meant that we wanted to upload a few more items from now on to get even closer to our dream and you also in our second hand online shop to offer a larger selection.

In general, the small purchase and sale of clothes has become a relatively big thing. However, the most important thing now is the planning and implementation of ideas and the uploading thing has taken on a secondary aspect. But that is exactly what we always want to achieve. That no two days are the same and that we work on our dream every day.

What we can give as a tip: Just start with what is close to your heart and really do it.

The rest is history and now we are sitting here and working on our dream that may one day allow us to live exactly the life we wished for at the swimming pool back then. And of course it's also really cool to have such pieces in the biggest closet you probably know
